For a couple of years, Aleida and Ayesha Merkel, the founders of the Studio, lived apart. They eventually found their way back to each other, and being close again reminded the twins of something they had always known: they think better together.

So they started building. The name came easily — 37889, the zip code of the place where they grew up, where creativity was built. They have never worked the same way. Aleida designs; she is happiest somewhere in the middle of an idea. Ayesha makes sense of it — the strategy, the structure, the part that turns a good idea into something that holds.

One sees the world, the other builds the road to it. Neither half works without the other. Born together and meant to work together.
